Well friends, here we are, another year! If you are like most people, I’m guessing you’ve made more than one New Year’s resolution. Topping the list for many people is the goal to lose weight. However, I submit to you that in order to achieve your weight loss goals, you have to make more than a New Year’s resolution. To lose weight successfully, you will need to resign yourself to a life long commitment of not just weight loss, but an overall healthy lifestyle. So how do you go about achieving this? It may surprise you to discover that the answers are not as difficult as you may have previously thought.
In upcoming articles, I will be sharing with you several simple, but powerful tools you can use that will not only help you reach your weight loss goals, but will also help you to achieve an overall healthy lifestyle. We will be looking at not only what to eat, but when and how much to eat that will best aid you in achieving optimum health. Now don’t worry, I won’t ask you to go get a scale and weigh every single thing you eat. So please, be on the lookout for my future articles in which I will explain in detail a program that if you follow it, will help you lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Good health does not happen by accident, nor is it something you can stumble into, or buy. Achieving good health is acquired one step at a time by diligent, persevering, consistent effort and dedication on your part. You are the one who is ultimately responsible for your health. This awesome responsibility does not rest in the hands of your doctor, family or friends, but with you.
No one but you can make up your mind to stop what you are currently doing that has injured your health and adopt practices that will generate good health, fitness, and vitality for a lifetime. Appeals from loved ones and friends, beseeching you to abandon your path of self-destruction, will have little to no effect until you have decided for yourself that enough is enough and that you are going to embark on the road to good health.
Now, I hope you are not saying to yourself, “there you see, I can do what I want; it’s up to me,” and continue your roll towards debilitating illnesses that will end in death. While it is true that you can do what you want, there are consequences you will pay that hurt not only you, but also those around you. I urge you not to put off until tomorrow what you can do today. After all, none of us knows what tomorrow will bring, so why hesitate any longer to choose today to live a healthy lifestyle. It’s a no-brainer!
